Shamrock is now in Norway in the Kindergarten kalled Fidje. Here he have been With the smallest children where he said hello and introduced himself. He told them that he was a monkey from Irland. The children liked him a lot. He sits Next to a few Norwegian goblins. On 6th of december the Kindergarten had a party kalled direktly translated from Norwegian a goblins party, or santa party. Here all the children where dressed in red and where lokking like santa. So Shamrock was so Lucky to be a part of that, and a part of a show kalled "Siri and Susi" they bake gingerbreads and sing christmassongs. This year Shamrock was baking With them. I think he liked it very mutch!
These lovely 5th class girls are pleased to introduce you all to Shamrock, the mascot from Holy Family school in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo in Ireland.
Shamrock got his great name from Jasmine in 4th class - she suggested the name for our school Erasmus+ mascot and we thought it was just great. A shamrock is one of the great Irish symbols and we thought this would be great name for our cuddly monkey. Shamrock is a rare breed of Irish monkey. These are only found in Co Sligo, mostly around the Tubbercurry area (other areas close to Smyth's Toy Stores). These girls were delighted to show Shamrock with the Irish flag colours stiched on to his tummy! Thanks to Granny Geraldine Brennan for organising this for us. Shamrock is already in Norway...he is staying with the pupils in the kindergarten school in Kristiansand. We can't wait to see all the acgtivities that he will get involved in there. The teachers in the kindergarten will help the pupils to put some diary entries and photos on here which will form Shamrock's digital diary. Shamrock will stay in Norway until January 2020. He will then go to Latvia until March 2020. He will go to Spain until October 2020. He will go to Lithuania until February 2021. His last visit will be to Estonia where he will stay from February until May 2021. He has his own passport and this will be a great souvenir at the end of all the travel of the project. |
